KATHO is the Catholic college of Southern West-Flanders with campuses in Kortrijk, Tielt, Roeselare and Torhout. In order to improve the internal communication between teachers and supporting staff, KATHO ordered an internal communications screening by RCA Brussels.
A short, but very targeted screening allowed us to draw up a thorough analysis of the communication needs within KATHO, from which immediately 9 principles to improve were put forward. From these improvements, 3 priority action issues derived.
The 'report' also mentioned the necessary recommendations in terms of use of internal media, target group approach, style and timing of the messages. It shows what the 'mission' of internal communications, specifically in KATHO, should entail and what structure is needed. The report concludes with an assessment of the necessary 'resources' and detailed plans for transition for maximum effect.
Together with the Communication Department of KATHO this report will be assessed before the academic year 2011-2012, making it a working guideline for the management in the coming years. The recommendations by RCA Brussels will be taken into consideration.
